"Italy has now become incredibly easy and cheap to get to, and this means many more of us can now go there. My best advice is to get out of the touristy places and into the real Italy, where good food and wine do not cost much........ If you use some basic Italian phrases, put a smile on your face, have enthusiasm and a twinkle in your eye, you can pretty much guarantee that you'll be looked after by the Italians." - Jamie Oliver

Flights Car Hire
Brindisi is the nearest airport for Casa Mare and Villa Rosa, approximately 30 minutes drive. Bari is a good alternative, about an hour and half drive from the villas. Alternatively you could fly to Naples and drive to Puglia, three to three and half hours drive, and a much easier drive than struggling around the M25!

Whichever route you choose car hire is essential when staying in Puglia.

RyanAir
RyanAir operate flights from London Stansted to both Brindisi and Bari with a reduced service between October and Easter. Off season and out of school holiday prices are, as always, cheaper. We have seen flights offered from as low a £0.01, of course there are always the taxes to pay. RyanAir is a no frills, budget airline but we have always had good experience with them. Our optional Meet and Greet service is available at both Bari (50 Euros charge) and Brindisi (30 Euros charge) airports.

British Airways
For more flexibility, or to use your Air Miles, you may choose to fly with BA from London Gatwick to Bari (April to October only) or Naples. Occasionally BA have special offers on flights to Bari/Naples that can mean pay the same (or not much more) than with RyanAir. And if you are and Air Miles collector, you can of course trade your Air Miles for flights to Naples.

Once you have successfully found your way out of Naples airport and onto the right auto-route, the drive between Naples and our villas is straightforward. However we admit we have had problems finding the correct route out of the airport and bigger problems finding our way back. Be sure to leave plenty of time on your return journey. We regret that the Meet and Greet service is not available at Naples.

AlItalia
AlItalia operate flights from London to major Italian airports from where you can get connecting flights to Brindisi or Bari. These AlItalia flights are often available at lower cost than the Ryan Air flights

Flying to Rome with AlItalia and then onto Bari with budget operator Blu-Express or Vol-Web can be a viable alternative.

Car Hire Flights
Car hire is essential for the maximum enjoyment of your holiday in Puglia. We've listed here some of the car hire companies that have desks at Brindisi and Bari airports. To avoid long queues it's worth avoiding the bigger names and airline partners and booking your car hire with an Italian company.

Be aware however that some of the car hire desks at Brindisi close before the arrival of the evening RyanAir flight. However if you have reserved a car they will normally arrange for the desk to be manned at the time of your flight arrival.
